While Autodesk has since moved on to newer versions (including the shift to PowerMill 2021, 2022, and the current 2025/2026 releases), remains a gold standard for many shops. It represents a peak of stability and maturity right before the major UI overhauls of later years.
Previously, if you changed a 3D model, you had to manually reattach toolpaths—a nightmare for last-minute engineering changes. 2020.2 introduced a smarter automatic toolpath reassociation. Always verify your Post Processor version. PowerMill 2020.2 requires the 2020.0 Post Processor engine. Using a newer .opt file might throw "Illegal AXIS" errors. Or have you moved to the newer subscription model
