Once on board, Prithvi discovers a locked cabin containing a diary belonging to a young girl named Sameera (Bhumi Pednekar). As he reads her entries, he begins to experience terrifying supernatural visions. The ship is haunted by Sameera’s restless spirit, who is trapped in a loop of trauma and loss.

The narrative shifts to reveal Sameera’s story: She was traveling on the Sea Bird with her mother (Ashutosh Rana). The mother suffers from a degenerative mental illness, leading to a tragic sequence of events. A devastating fire breaks out on the ship, causing the mother to jump overboard in a psychotic episode, leaving Sameera alone and terrified. The story follows Prithvi (Vicky Kaushal), a depressed and emotionally numb shipping officer who has been living a mechanical life since the death of his wife four years earlier. Prithvi realizes that his own grief over losing his wife allows him to connect with Sameera’s loneliness. Instead of fighting the ghost, he empathizes with her. The climax involves Prithvi helping Sameera find peace by recreating the moment of her death and guiding her toward the “light.” In the process, he overcomes his own emotional paralysis and begins to heal.
