Dead End Colosseum feels illegal to be free. It has the depth of a $20 indie gem, the addictive loop of a AAA rogue-lite, and the heart of a passion project. The developer clearly made the game they wanted to play, and it shows.

Imagine if Darkest Dungeon and Swords & Sandals had a chaotic, low-budget lovechild. You are a lanista (gladiator owner) in a city at the edge of the world. You buy, train, and equip a rotating stable of desperate souls to fight in an arena that literally changes its rules every season.

I downloaded it on a whim last Friday night. I blinked, and suddenly it was 3 AM, I was on my 14th run, and I was screaming at my monitor because my best berserker got one-shot by a skeleton with a squeaky hammer.
