"Because my mother taped it," Mandy corrected. "And then she sent it to us with a note that said, 'Watch at 8 PM sharp. You're both in this episode.'"
"Are we really going to watch this?" she asked, not turning around.
"Eighty-two degrees is still insane," she whispered.
Outside, the November wind howled. Inside, the apartment was still a mess, the refrigerator still hummed, and the thermostatātaped crookedly back to the wallāread a perfect 68 degrees.
