Imposition is the arrangement of multiple printed pages on a single larger sheet of paper so that when the sheet is folded, cut, and bound, the pages appear in the correct sequential order. The wizard simplifies this pre-press task, reducing material waste, speeding up print production, and minimizing human error. 2. Definition & Core Purpose Imposition is the step in commercial printing where virtual pages (e.g., from a PDF) are re-ordered and positioned on a printer’s sheet.
