He typed his answer.
Thorne smiled. "I was hoping you would." "Zero," he said
Thorne was silent for a beat. "Correct. You've bypassed the classic liar-truth teller paradox. Question Two is harder."
Kaelen didn't look at the numbers. He looked at the idea of the numbers. He closed his eyes. The other prodigies had reached for calculators, for formulas. Kaelen reached for a metaphor. "Then my first act as Director," Kaelen said,
"That's not the test," Kaelen whispered. "That's the trick."
A minute passed. Two. Then the door to the white room hissed open.
