Software is corrupted / Wrong SW version
Disappointing and frustrating.
I purchased the Starsat receiver hoping for a reliable satellite experience, but unfortunately, this has been a major headache right out of the gate.
Look for a different brand or a plug-and-play model. Having to "download again" on a brand-new product is unacceptable.
According to multiple forums and my own trial and error, the only solution is to manually download the correct software/firmware from a PC, transfer it to a USB drive, and re-flash the receiver. The message "SW is wrong, please download again" essentially means the unit is not usable out of the box.
The main issue is the software (SW). The version pre-installed on the device is either incorrect or corrupted. Upon booting up or attempting to scan for channels, the system becomes sluggish, unstable, or throws errors indicating a firmware mismatch.
