Accept & CloseThe TM 9-2320-279-10-2 for the M1087A1 is legally sufficient to prevent damage to the equipment, but it is pedagogically weak. It treats the operator as a button-pusher rather than a tactically competent maintainer. Units should supplement this manual with local, photo-heavy job aids for the expansion mechanism and ECU. Without those, expect more calls to the maintenance desk for simple resets.
This review assumes the manual is written for the operator/crew level (-10 level) and follows standard US Army TM format. Comprehensive but Dense: A Field Operator’s Critique of the M1087A1 Technical Manual
