Tekken 4 is a 3D fighting game originally released by Namco for the PlayStation 2 in 2001–2002. PPSSPP is a cross-platform PSP (PlayStation Portable) emulator.

Tekken 4 was never officially released for the PSP . The PSP received Tekken: Dark Resurrection (a port of Tekken 5 DR). Thus, "Tekken 4 on PPSSPP" refers to running the PS2 version of Tekken 4 via PS2 emulation (PCSX2) – not PPSSPP. However, the search query is common among users who mistakenly believe a PSP port exists or who use PPSSPP for other Tekken games.

PPSSPP cannot magically run PS2 .iso files because the PSP and PS2 have completely different architectures (MIPS R4000 vs Emotion Engine). This is a common confusion. Tekken 5 DR is often mistaken for Tekken 4 due to similar roster and stages.
